Job Summary:

As a junior barista, you'll be the coffee shop's rising star, working alongside a senior barista and perfecting your coffee-making skills. Your role is crucial in supporting the senior baristas and ensuring that every cup of coffee served is of exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coffee Preparation:

- Assist senior baristas in preparing various coffee beverages.

- Learn and follow established coffee recipes and techniques.

- Gain proficiency in the art of latte art and coffee presentation.

2. Customer Interaction:

- Greet customers with a friendly attitude and assist them with their orders.

- Engage in polite conversations with customers making them feel welcomed.

3. Equipment Assistance:

- Cleaning of coffee machines, grinders, and other coffee shop equipment.

- Observe and learn from senior baristas in equipment handling and maintenance.

4. Menu Familiarity:

- Stay up-to-date with the coffee shop's menu, including seasonal offerings.

   - Educate customers about different coffee menue options.

5. Quality Assurance:

- Pay close attention to senior baristas' instructions on coffee quality standards.

- Participate in taste-testing sessions to refine your palate and coffee-making skills.

6. Efficiency and Teamwork:

- Work closely with senior baristas during busy periods to assist in fulfilling customer orders.

- Learn to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

7. Cleanliness and Organisation:

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the coffee station and workspace.

- Adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines.

Qualifications:

- Prior barista experience is required, a passion for coffee is a must.

- Willingness to learn and follow instructions closely.

- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take on constructive feedback.

Working Hours:

To be agreed on an individual basis. Junior baristas usually work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support the coffee shop's operating hours.

Salary:

£12 per hour,

Annual bonus, health insurance after 6 months in position
